When Jordan Ranch students attend their brand-new elementary school this August, they will find Heather Williams in the principal’s office.
Williams brings two decades of experience in education to Lindsey and has been the principal of Stan C. Stanley Elementary School in Katy for the past five years. Previously, she served as assistant principal at Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary School, campus instructional technology specialist at Briscoe Junior High School and Gifted and Talented facilitator for Austin Elementary and Huggins Elementary.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin State University and a master’s of education in administration and supervision from the University of Houston.
The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District broke ground on the new 92,324-square-foot school last year. The school was named after Kathleen Joerger Lindsey, one of the first female attorneys to practice law in Fort Bend County.
Designed by PBK Architects, Lindsey Elementary will house 38 classrooms and accommodate up to 750 students. Features include a library, science room, computer lab, art room with patio, music room, life skills center, special education resource room and a gymnasium.
Lindsey Elementary joins newly opened Leaman Junior High School and Fulshear High School in serving the Jordan Ranch community.
Located in family-friendly Fulshear within easy access to employers along the Energy Corridor, shopping at Katy Mills Mall, outdoor recreation at Mary Jo Peckham Park and concerts at the Smart Financial Centre, Jordan Ranch offers a great alternative to buyers seeking new homes for sale in neighboring Brookshire or Katy. A clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, an event lawn and a playground will open this year. Other planned amenities — including a freeform pool, lazy river and splash pad — are slated to open in 2018.
