Kids of all ages can take the wheel of vehicles large and small during Touch-a-Truck on 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26.
All forms of transportation from cars and trucks to boats, trains and hot air balloons will be parked outside The Shed, 30722 Sonora Ridge Drive, for a day of exploration and learning in a fun and safe environment. Touch-a-Truck is open to the public.
Children will be able to get up close and personal with vehicles representing all sorts of careers, as well as having a chance to ask the operators questions about what they do and how the trucks help them to do their jobs.
Featured vehicles include NASCAR driver extraordinaire Kristen Bumbera and her pit crew’s high-powered race car, a firetruck and police car courtesy of the City of Fulshear, a Fort Bend SWAT team truck and a Lifetime Learners school bus. Other confirmed vehicles include the Il Primo food truck and Cool Bus ice cream truck. Bass Pro Shop will offer a boat to climb on, and there will be a hot air balloon and a trackless train.
The event is free, but participants are asked to donate school supplies to the Houston's Children Charity "Back2School" Program.
