community of the year

Jordan Ranch Named Community of the Year

We are definitely making a name for ourselves, and that name is “2022 Community of the Year!”

The Houston’s Best PRISM Awards program is held annually by the Houston Builders Association. It’s an honor to be nominated. Winning? Let’s just say we popped open a few champagne bottles.

The judges were impressed by the way our developer Johnson Development shaped a former rice field into a vibrant community. One of the first steps taken was to improve the landscape by planting thousands of trees to shade residents as they walk, bike and play. Manmade lakes and waterways add serenity. Meandering streets and cul-de-sacs allow residents to easily meet their neighbors.

Our master plan also includes an on-site school (opening next year), space for daycare and church, and a commercial. Homes in varying price points by top builders — including Houston’s Best PRISMS Volume Builder of the Year, J. Patrick Homes — appeal to a wide range of buyers. As a bonus, the variety allows families to move up or move down without leaving Jordan Ranch.

There’s also the convenience of having the Texas Heritage Parkway winding through our community. Through our involvement in the public-private partnership that led to its construction, we were able to ensure the parkway includes 12-foot hike-and-bike trails and pedestrian tunnels under the parkway roundabouts.

Amenities including our resort-style pool with lazy river, lighted tennis courts, fitness center, playground, and more add to our appeal.

Our most unique amenity is Sunset Farm, our 1.5-acre community garden. The judges must have thought so, too. It was  named “Community Amenity Center of the Year – Developer.”

Farm educators from Agmenity, a company that provides agricultural amenity services to developers HOAs, school districts and other community organizations, oversee the farm. Residents have opportunities to work the soil and purchase fresh vegetables and herbs at a weekly farm stand.

The farm is a resource for residents and the community. The public can shop at the farm stand from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays. The produce is also donated to local food pantries.

We also were finalists in was the Television/Video Promo of the Year category in the Houston’s Best PRISM 2022 community awards.

Yep, we certainly live the good life in Jordan Ranch. Tour our award-winning community today to find out how you can live the good life, too.
