Our family-friendly town received an overall A+ rating and a No. 8 ranking on the 2021 list of Best Places to Raise a Family. Fulshear also ranked No. 23 on a list of The Best Places to Live in Texas and No. 30 on a list of the best schools. It ranks No. 266 out of 18,516 towns on a list of The Best Places to Live in America.

Rankings are based on statistics on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities.

School quality figured prominently in Fulshear’s rating. The city is served by Lamar Consolidated ISD and Katy ISD. Lamar Consolidated received an overall A- grade which is good news for Jordan Ranch residents whose children are zoned to the district. Leaman Junior High received an A.

Housing and saving also received high marks with no violent crime and minimal property crimes, with many reviewers on the website commenting that police response time is excellent and officers are present everywhere.
